I've been considering dropping Dish (our cable provider). We never watch TV anymore. Lately, I don't even watch CNN/Headline News in the mornings - I watch local for the weather and local events. The kids don't watch TV unless they have a DVD from Netflix or the library.
But then I checked the reception since the BIG SWITCH TO DIGITAL TV and, yeah, I don't get CW or PBS or KET. It gets black squares and the sound goes out. SO STUPID! I could watch TV with a little snow and slight hiss. This is digital = ON|OFF. It's mostly OFF on a lot of channels I used to get with the old, outdated technology. And, of course, I can just pitch my 2" portable TV I'd use during storms or camping.
So, we just may keep Dish for a while, if for no other reason than to reward them for rescuing us from the stupidity of digital TV.

Dark Angel: Season 2
What can I say? Ouch!! Yuk!! What happened?! This was obviously done with a completely new set of writers who were probably given feedback from test audiences who couldn't care less about a dystopian future sci-fi plot. "Make it funnier." "Make it less `dark'." Man, what an embarrassing season. No wonder it was canceled.

Dark Angel - More Cancelled TV shows consume my time
I had lots to do over Thanksgiving break but my Netflix came. It was the 2nd DVD of Dark Angel: Season 1. Watched it pretty quick so then I had to go to the library downtown Saturday. They had disks 3 and 4! -But not 5 and 6. Oh well, that saved some time (on my Netflix queue anyway). Yikes. That's nearly 11 hours! To be fair, a couple episodes were in the early AM before anyone was up and a couple were late. Still, it did eat up a bunch of time.
I tried to make up for it by watching "The Searchers" (John Wayne) with my son who was going to have a book discussion on a similar topic (kids in old west captured by Comanches). I thought it might bring that to life for him. He got bored halfway through and wandered off. Good movie!
Man! I can't wait for Dark Angel: Season 1, disk 5 to come in Netflix. :-)

Finished Season 1 of Chuck
I really like that show. It's like to old TV shows. Silly fun. So many plot flaws - still it's fun. Good characters.
